Welcome to St Peter’s Church!

We are a community of Christians seeking to serve and love those around us. We are part of the Colchester Town Centre Parish, and our building is at the top of North Hill (where it meets the High Street). Our congregation is made up of people of various ages and stages, some of whom live in the parish and many of whom come from further afield. Other than that, of course, things continue to be a bit unusual at the moment.

Weekly Updates. Please click here for the most recent Update (20th February).

Sunday ‘on-line’ Services. Sundays until 21st March will be on Zoom, and not on Facebook Live. Do join us at 10:00am if you can – you would be most welcome. Zoom login details for “Lent Online” on Sundays are available on request.

There will also be a short service of Morning Prayer each Sunday on the Vicar’s YouTube channel for those unable to access Zoom. These pre-recorded services can be accessed any time after 8:00am on Sundays, and can be viewed on YouTube. For the relevant service-sheet, click here.

Sunday ‘in-church’ Services. In light of the government policy and the advice received from the Diocese, we are sadly still closed for public worship for the time being. We will keep the matter under ongoing review and will continue to make services online available each Sunday morning.

  • Sheila Lloyd writes: You are invited to take part in a Quiet Morning at Home on the theme “Still it is Winter”. Tuesday 23rd February at 10:00am-12noon with optional “Lunchtime in Quiet”. It takes the theme of the pandemic going on endlessly like a long winter, and looks at the experience of the Hebrew People as they coped – or didn’t cope! – with the life in the wilderness after the exodus from Egypt. For those interested in using the material at another time, they are welcome to set aside their own time. Please email Sheila on [email protected]
