We are a church in the town centre that loves to welcome students! Some of us are students, some of wish we still were. We welcome students from Essex University, the Colchester Institute, and further afield…
TRAVELLING IN FROM CAMPUS
If you can find Burger King in the High Street, then you can find us. If you’re coming by bus on a Sunday morning, we recommend taking the 62 bus at 10:15am from Boundary Road (opp Valley Road) to Greyfriars (stop Hb) in the High Street. This will get you into town in plenty of time to grab a coffee or some breakfast and come along to the top of the High Street for the start of the service. If you miss the 10:15am bus, there’s another one at 10:45, although that will get you in slightly late (don’t worry, we’ll still let you in!).
ROCK SOLID, FOR STUDENTS
Do join us after the Sunday morning service for Rock Solid – every Sunday during termtime. There is such a thing as a free lunch, which we serve in the Church Hall (currently there’s no charge, although we might ask you to help with the washing-up!). It’s a chance to meet other people, to look at the Bible together, to discuss and pray – and to ask any questions you may have. For further details, contact Aella Gage on 07796 475130.
STUDENTS AT ESSEX UNIVERSITY
- If you’re a student at Essex, we encourage you to get stuck into the Christian Union – and you can find out more about the CU here.
- For those from an international background, or who would like to support international students, then we recommend the Friends International ministry on the campus.
- If you’d like to know more about the Christian support available on campus, then do talk to Rev Julia Murphy, the University Chaplain.
